In the not too distant future there will be a gamer waking up on a beautiful Christmas morning. Charging down the steps in pure geek excitement with what awaits them under the family Christmas tree! As you see them, prior to ripping those gifts open with glee you ask yourself, "Did I make the right choice of game for my gamer?" Well, fear not! I will help guide you in the vast sea of video games this holiday season.

First Person Shooters

If you have a lover of First Person Shooters in your house then this season is simply ripe full of great Shooters! Here is some must haves!

1. Battlefield 3 From the moment I seen the trailer I haven't been able to pick my jaw off the floor! Destroying buildings to jumping into tanks this shooter has it all!

2. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Like Battlefield, the Call of Duty:MW3 trailer looks great. MW has a long history of great gameplay and this game takes it to a whole new level.

3. Rage Developed by the creators of Doom and Quake this shooter looks very promising. This one could rival both BF3 and MW3!

4. Resistance 3 (PS3) The first game was one of the first PS3 games that really showed what the system could do. For PS3 owners a must have!

5. Gears of War 3 (XBOX360) Gears has a long bloody history of great gameplay. This one is no exception. With improved multi player mode this title is sure to please.

1. Batman: Arkham City Holy Bat sequels! One of the most anticipated games of the year! If it is anything like the first game this will be a must have!

2. Dead Island Beautiful beaches and zombies? Taking a different approach to your typical zombie atmosphere of gloomy enviroments.

3. Deus Ex: Human Revolution Over 11 years ago the first Deus Ex was a game changer! The next "Revolution" of Deus Ex looks to be as good as the first.

4. Assassin's Creed Revelations Assassin's Creed looks to continue it's history of great stealth gaming and kills. Sneakiness is a must.

5. Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception (PS3) Uncharted's first two outings were top notch action games. This one looks to keep with the same track record.

Sports

Do you have a gamer who is a sports nut? Football? Basketball (since there may not be any this year), Soccer, or Racer?

1. Madden 12 More tweaks and more custom seasons. Improved tackling and I have to say better side line catching. Overall if you have a football fan in the house. Madden is a must have.

2. FIFA Soccer 12 One of the most popular sport titles in EA Sports roster. If you have a soccer lover to buy for this is a gimme.

3. NBA 2K12 Since there is a great possibilty that there may not be a NBA season this year. Your NBA lover will need their fix. What better way then to let them play out the season that could be!

4. NCAA Football 12 Much like Madden, NCAA football is a sports gamers staple.

5. F1 2011 If you have a racer in your household then this game is the one for them. The graphics are simply amazing and the controls are spot on.

Most importantly!

This is just a small amount of games that are out there. Gaming publishers have some really great games for the holiday season. Too many to list really. The important thing to do and I speak from expienrence is to listen to your gamer. Have them make a list of games that they really want ranging from top to bottom. Also, alot of games go on sale with major discounts or game bundles on Black Friday or Cyber Monday. So if you can hold off til then you could save some money.

Dues Ex is very good, but there are a few downfalls, like with other games. The loading time sucks, and the saving isn't the greatest, well not saving but how it saves and where to "pick up" after you exited the game completely.

My friend who has it has said the same thing about the load times and the saves. Hopefully they patch it soon. The little bit that I have played of Deus Ex it seems really good. Hard to hold up to the orginal which was one of my favorite PC games.
